How can I find out more about the regional participation opportunities for my child/school?
It is up to individual schools to which events the school enters. More information on what events are being conducted can be found via the SSACT Calendar of Events located on the home page in the green and purple bubble for all dates or via the sport specific pages which can be found under the ‘Sports’ dropdown tab at the top of the homepage. Please contact your child’s School Sport Coordinator regarding what events the school will be entering.
How is my child entered into individual Regional events?
For individual events such as Golf and Tennis, these are open to students with a handicap or ranking, the school will enter them through appropriate entry form. Students wishing to compete at a regional level for the Big 3 (Swimming, Cross Country and Track & Field) they will need to qualify via their school carnival (qualifying details can be found in the SSACT Big 3 Eligibility, Event Specifications and Qualifying Numbers document in Resources tab top of homepage). School Sport Coordinators will submit an entry spreadsheet after the school carnival to the appropriate delivery partner liaison (Swimming ACT or Athletics ACT) and the student will be notified if they have qualified. Your child will receive information via their school to whether they have qualified from Regional to the ACT Championship.
How is my child’s school entered into Secondary Regional competitions?
For team events each school determines which events they enter and how they promote, conduct trials and make team selections. Your child’s School Sport Coordinator will receive entry information from the Event Coordinator on how to nominate a team to compete in the event.
Where do I find out if a Regional event has been cancelled?
If a Regional event has been cancelled, it will be posted on the School Sport ACT Facebook page, it may also be shared the morning of the event on local radio stations. It is the aim to give as much notice as possible, so Regional events may be postponed a day or two out due to expected poor weather. In this case, SSACT will be in contact with the Event coordinator and an email to School Sport Coordinators will be sent.
What equipment should my child be prepared with to compete at SSACT events?
Required equipment and safety apparel will be shared with your School Sport Coordinator via the Event Coordinator’s entry information and should be shared on the school generated permission note. For the Big 3 events, Swimming, Cross Country and Track and Field, specific information can be found in the Rules of Competition on their sport specific pages (Sports tab, top of website homepage)

State Team Selection Trials
Where can I find information about a State Team Selection trial location, time and date?
Information regarding each trial can be found on the sport specific page, in the Sports tab on the website homepage within the bright green link stating Trial Information.
A document called APD System Parent Guide can be found, via the search function, in the Resources section (tab top of website homepage), which will provide you a step-by-step process on trials, uniform and payment.
State Team Student Registration
Do I register myself as a parent or an official?
If you are wishing to register your child for a selection trial, you will need to register yourself as a parent first via the Register your Student button or the top right ’Register’ of website homepage.
How do I register my child for a State Team Representative trial?
You will need to first register an account via the School Sport ACT website (Register button located on the top right of the home page). You will then click on the relevant sport via the ‘Sports’ dropdown menu. Finally, under the Upcoming ‘Sport’ Teams heading, click on the desired team trial. E.g. (12&U Softball Trial).
How do I register as a Parent?
Go onto the homepage of the School Sport ACT website and click on the Register your student. Fill out the required details and click submit. Be sure to enter your contact details and not your child’s.
Can a student who is 18 register themselves for a trial?
It is imperative that School Sport ACT have the details of the person who will be making payments and be financially responsible for the student. It is also important for the Team Manager to easily contact the student’s parent/guardian. Therefore, each student must have a parent/guardian’s details entered into the system not just their own.
I didn’t receive a registration email to confirm my account.
Please email info@schoolsportact.org.au as your account may need to be reactivated.
I can’t register my child to a team. Why is that?
Please ensure that the date of birth is set appropriately, as the system will only recognise students that fit the appropriate age category. If an issue persists, please contact info@schoolsportact.org.au or 61030777 (during business hours) for further assistance.
I registered for the wrong team, what do I do?
Please contact the SSACT office info@schoolsportact.org.au or 61030777 (during business hours) for assistance. You will need to register for the correct trial to be considered for team selection.
What if my child is carrying an injury at the time of the State Team Selection Trial but maybe recovered by the time of training or competition commences?
If your child is likely to recover to full capacity by the time of training or competition, it is advisable for them to still be registered online and attend trials, participating as best they can, or at a minimum informing the Team Coach of the situation. It will at the Team Coach’s discretion whether to select or not.
I didn’t register in time for the first State Team Selection Trial can my child still attend the trials?
Yes, your child can attend the FIRST trial, approach the Team Manager to inform them of your child’s details. You will need to register your child via the SSACT website by the second trial.
I already have a Parent and Students Profile; how do I update my and/or my child’s details before registering for another trial? E.g. Change of school or home address
Log in to the website (top right of homepage) using your previously chosen Username and Password, go to your Parent Dashboard and click on Edit Details. For further clarification use the APD System Parent Guide which can be found, via the search function, in the Resources section (tab top of website homepage).
Are State Team Selection Trials called off?
A selection trial may be postponed due to poor weather or a change in circumstance for the Team Officials. The Team Manager or Coach will contact SSACT if a trial will be postponed or cancelled. The updated information will posted on Facebook, the website and an email sent to all those who have registered to trial.
I can’t make the advertised State Team Selection Trials, can my child still make the team?
It is compulsory to attend at least or over 50% of the advertised trial dates (E.g.: 1 out of the 2 trials, 2 out of the 3 trials). If this is not possible, you will be unable to make the team.

State Team Selection
My child has been selected as a shadow, what does that mean?
This means they are listed as a reserve for the team. You will have the choice to take up the position as a shadow player and continuing training with the team in preparation for the Championship. It is important to note, that your child will not go to the Championship unless there is a withdrawal.
How do I seek feedback if my child is not selected?
The Team Coach will be available via email to ask for specific feedback to things your child can be working on for future selection, or if it was a positional based decision.
I missed the uniform try on session for the team. What do I do?

Why do I need the mandatory uniform?
It is requirement by School Sport Australia for all representative states to wear the appropriate uniform of their state. This is an essential part in maintaining the prestige and professionalism of the championship.
What uniform do I need to purchase?
It is a requirement for all ACT student representatives to have the appropriate playing strip, tracksuit pants, tracksuit jacket, polo shirt, dress shorts and hat (cap, bucket hat or beanie). Optional items that can be purchased include warm-up t-shirt, ankle and shin socks, drink bottle, backpack, gear bag, bag tag and parka jacket. These are available to look at during try-on sessions.
Can I use/borrow a relatives/friend’s uniform?
Yes, as long it is the current ACT representative uniform. This can include the playing strip if the shirt number is approved by Team Management.
My child has been selected as a Shadow Player. What uniform do they need?
A shadow player will need to purchase the playing strip only. This entails playing jersey, playing shorts and playing socks. This is a requirement as the shadow player may be called into the team very close to the Championship leaving no time to order player specific playing strip. If called into the team Dress Uniform and other items may be purchased from stock.
State Team Uniform Ordering
I ordered the wrong size. Can I order a different size?
In most cases we will be able to exchange for the size you are after. If the order has already been placed, a replacement size may not always be available. I ordered the wrong item, or I don’t want that item anymore, can I get a refund?
Please contact the SSACT office, info@schoolsportact.org.au or the office on 61030777 (during business hours) for assistance as soon as possible. If the order has already been placed, it is important to note that you may be financially accountable for the item.
I want to make changes to my uniform order, but the online system won’t let me?
Once you confirm the team fees you will be locked out of the uniform section of your account. Please contact the SSACT office, info@schoolsportact.org.au or 61030777 (during business hours) for assistance.
Why does a deposit need to be paid to accept a position on a state team?
The deposit needs to be paid on accepting the offer to be selected in a State Team, to confirm your intent to attend the relevant School Sport Australia Championship and to start covering costs SSACT incurs very early in the process on behalf of your child.

Why is there a surcharge on Credit Card payments? How can I avoid paying a surcharge?
SSACT is charged a merchant fee for each payment made by Credit Card, the 2.5% surcharge is a blended surcharge to cover the differing cards merchant fees. This has been approved by the ACCC. To avoid paying a surcharge you can use the alternative method shared on the Payment page of Direct Deposit, providing a reference as instructed.
Can I pay Team Fee payments in instalments?
Yes, you can. Payments can be made in any size amounts right up until the final payment due date. Please reference all Direct Deposits as instructed.
What happens if am late with the final Team Fee instalment, or can’t afford the payment at that time?
It is important to communicate to the SSACT office, business@schoolsportact.org.au or 61030777 (in business hours), as soon as possible if you foresee you will have difficulty making the final payment before departure, an arrangement might be able to be offered. If final payment is not received by the due date, without notification, the student will not receive the uniform items ordered and will not be permitted to compete at the School Sport Australia Championship.
My child can no longer attend the championship. Will I receive a full refund?
No, the deposit will not be refunded. There are number of circumstances we will need to consider before a full refund can be processed. Please contact the SSACT office business@schoolsportact.org.au or 61030777 (during business hours), for assistance.

How do I register as a an Official?
Go onto homepage of the School Sport ACT website and click on the Register as an Official button half way down the page. Fill out the required details and click submit.
Why can’t I see all of the documents relevant to teachers/officials in the Resources section?
You need to log in using your Username and Password as selected when you first registered. Log In can found top right of the website homepage.
I can’t login. What do I do?
Try resetting your password. If this doesn’t work, please email info@schoolsportact.org.au as your account may need to be reactivated.
As a Team Official how do I set up the State Team Selection Trials in the online system?
