In 2011, after many years of operating independently the ACT Secondary Schools Sports Association (ACTSSSA) and the ACT Primary Schools Sports Association (ACTPSSA) amalgamated to form the ACT School Sport Management Committee (ACTSSMC).
To enable oversight of the management committee the ACT Schools Sports Council was established at the same time and remains responsible for the strategic direction and approach of SSACT.
Given these changes the Council was very aware of the need to capture historical records of both organisations and Mr Paul Andrews was therefore engaged to collate the historical data from the ACTSSSA and has collated this information into the “ACTSSSA Results History Project 1977 – 2011”.
This information is now available to the broader school community where students, parents and interested others can search on the School Sport ACT website and see who has come before them. The council would also like to hear from anyone who information which may be a useful addition to the history we currently have collated. Old photos, sports programs or personal reflections are most welcome.
